Irish Christmas in America

December 1st, 2015 - Tuesday
"Irish Christmas in America" is a joyful celebration of the season in Ireland with songs, stories, humor, thrilling step dance, and lively instrumental tunes. Now in its 11th year and featuring some of the Emerald Isle's best traditional artists, the performance comes to Cincinnati on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Free parking behind the Center. Tickets are advance $27 ($25 members), $30 at the door, on sale now at For more information contact 513-533-0100

Teresa Horgan, an up-and-coming vocalist and flutist from County Cork, is the 2015 special guest artist. Her earthy, emotive vocals have featured in two top Celtic groups and on her own first album, now gaining raves. She joins legendary artist Séamus Begley, named Ireland’s TG4 Traditional Singer of the Year. From a famous musical family in County Kerry, Begley is a fiery accordionist and hilarious story teller as well.

Fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada of County Sligo is called "one of the most gifted and creative traditional fiddlers playing today" by The Irish Echo. The exciting step-dance of champion American dancer Samantha Harvey is a highlight of the show. The stirring uillean piping (Irish bagpipes) by Chicago's own Sean Gavin, and driving guitar by Patrick Doocey complete the ensemble.

Music from the show is captured on the CD "An Irish Christmas Soundscape," available to listen or purchase at
